1.What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to keep them secure, and to remember information about your visit. Similar technologies (such as local storage) work in the same way, and references to “cookies” in this Policy include them.
2.How we use cookies
The AECS Research Global (“ARG”) website uses only the cookies necessary for it to function properly and securely. We do not currently use advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to build marketing profiles of visitors or to track you across other websites.
Necessary cookies are used, for example, to keep the Website secure, to remember your preferences, and — for authorised client users — to keep you signed in to the client portal and to protect your session.
3.Cookies we use
| Cookie / type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Keeps the Website working as you move between pages and maintains a secure session. | Session (deleted when you close your browser) |
| Authentication token | Keeps authorised client users signed in to the client portal and protects against unauthorised access. | Up to the length of your login session |
| Security / preference | Remembers basic settings and helps protect the Website against misuse. | Up to 12 months |
Because these cookies are strictly necessary for the Website and client portal to operate, they cannot be switched off through a consent banner. If you block them in your browser, parts of the Website may not work.
4.Third-party services
Some content — such as fonts and images — may be delivered through third-party services (for example a content-delivery network or web-font provider). These providers may set their own cookies or receive technical information needed to deliver that content. We do not control these cookies; please refer to the relevant provider’s own privacy and cookie notices for details.
5.Managing cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you see what cookies are stored, delete them individually or in bulk, and block cookies from some or all websites. The “Help” section of your browser explains how.
Please note that because we use only necessary cookies, blocking them may prevent parts of the Website — including the client portal — from functioning as intended.
6.Changes to this Policy
If we introduce additional cookies in future — for example analytics to help us improve the Website — we will update this Cookie Policy and, where required, ask for your consent first. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest revision.
7.Contacting us
