Extension-of-time claims on Indian projects routinely turn on evidence rather than on entitlement: the notice was late, the programme was never accepted, or nobody can show the delaying event touched the critical path. This report sets out what an extension-of-time claim must demonstrate under the CPWD General Conditions of Contract 2023, the NHAI standard EPC Agreement and the FIDIC 2017 forms, and what the Society of Construction Law Delay and Disruption Protocol (2nd edition, February 2017) says about delay analysis methods, concurrency, float and records. It separates what these documents require from what they merely recommend, because confusing the two is a common error in the field.
